Quality Assurance Survey 2012

In 2012 we undertook our first Quality Assurance Audit where we surveyed the opinions of both the families of our residents and healthcare professionals who regularly visit Halwill Manor.

Our objective was to benchmark our current service levels with a view to systematically improving each yardstick.
As a result we have taken action and there are exciting new improvements being introduced to the home, particularly in the area of enhancing the activities co-coordinator and maintenance staff.

A ‘Social needs’ program is being adopted, which we are creating through research, training and visiting other providers and professionals within the sector. We aim to create a social needs program bespoke to each resident at the home. This will be evidenced within the coming months when friends and families will be invited into the home to discuss ideas, and also be invited to attend some staff dementia awareness training.
An additional full time member of maintenance staff has been employed and a long term maintenance and development plan is in place which he will be responsible for.
We are constantly looking for ways to improve the home and the care we provide for our residents so if you have any suggestions please do not hesitate to contact Richard McSpadden to discuss them.
